Volume 9 Eugene Boudin (b. 12 July 1824 – d. 8 August 1898), a French landscape painter and one of the first to actually do it outdoors. Boudin was a marine painter, and expert in the rendering all that pertained to the sea and its shorelines.Boudin was the son of a harbor pilot, and spent his early life by the seaports. The family eventually moved inland setting up storefronts. Eugene selling frames, and once again became acquainted with painters of the area and their maritime works.
At 22, encouraged by established these same established painters, Boudin started to paint full time in Paris, but eventually finding himself in Brittany, Flanders and Normandy. History suggests that Eugene convinced his friend Monet to give up caricature drawings and concentrate on landscapes

Raja Ravi Varma (29 April 1848–2 October 1906) was a celebrated Indian painter and artist. Raja Ravi Varma was born M. R. Ry. Ravi Varma, Koil Thampuran of Kilimanoor at Kilimanoor palace in the princely state of Travancore (present-day Kerala). Ravi’s early tutors were provided by the Palace and included both Indian and European tutors.
Varma progressed over the years from mastering watercolor techniques to oil paintings. Ravi Varma received widespread acclaim after he won an award for an exhibition of his paintings at Vienna in 1873. Caspar David Friedrich (5 September 1774 – 7 May 1840) was a 19th-century German Romantic landscape painter. Considered the most important German artist of his generation. Caspar was taught early in his artist education to sketch outdoor and became known for his representations of allegorical landscapes and the small space occupied by silhouetted humans in these scenes.
Modern psychiatry would have a field day completing analysis of individual works as driven by his temperament and early tragic events. Personally I find his work, in most cases awe-inspiring and tend to overlook the obvious links of color and subjects to his past
Caspar David Friedrich died after painting a long legacy of works. Tragedies in Caspar’s life left indelible marks on the subject of his sketches and paintings. Friedrich had lost a mother early in his life as well as a sister who had in essence, replaced a mother was also called early in her life. A brother drowned in an ice floe, reported by some, while attempting to save Caspar- if the case - a life of regrets.
